Website Contact Person: Stavros Ladis Description: We’ll take first to the abandoned village of Kastro, stopping to explore its church and soak up the panoramas over the island and Mount Athos on the Greek mainland. Continuing your journey, it’s then on to the waterfalls at Apostolous. Hidden in woodland, the air around these little falls is filled with the sounds of cicadas and croaking frogs. From here, you’ll drive the hairpin roads up Mount Ipsarion, the island’s highest peak. Soaring to 1,204 metres, this pine-covered mountain has a lookout point commanding breathtaking views over all of Thassos and its neighbouring islands. After a barbecue lunch at a mountain hut, it’s on to the final stop, Maries lake. Its bluey-green waters lake are fringed by forests and a series of gushing waterfalls even prettier than those at Apostolous.
